I don't go to church. I'm trying to start an alternative Christian rite - a sort of cult (in the strict sense, of rite). The idea is that a group of people form a circle, in a London park on a Sunday, and pass round the sign of the cross - you draw it on the palm of the person to your left - and then kneel in prayer, putting head to ground Muslim-style - and then bread and wine is passed round. That's it. At present I do it with my family - wife and young kids. I hope that people will gradually join in. It will be a key part of Christianity's post-institutional renewal.
