TMJ for the Nintendo 3DS

posted Dec 27, 2010 4:40 AM by Daniel Gump
We're nearing the new year, which, among other things, means I am going to start the game engine for TMJ for its final home on the Nintendo 3DS Browser.  Since I know little more than the screen size of the 3DS and that it boasts more power than the DSi, much of the engine will be a guess that I will tweak once the handheld is available.  Where the DSi has a crippled HTML5 canvas, I am hoping that the 3DS will have full support so that I can make a tile-based engine with rotation and zooming.  If you look at HullBreach Online for the Wii, you can get an idea of the true power of the HTML5 canvas.  The demos at WiiOperaSDK also use the HTML5 canvas.  I will take a stab at making the parchment artwork for the intro sequence and will place that on 3DSPaint as the first demo to the game.  If possible, I will release it for DSiPaint, too.
