General

The Mystical Journey is a role-playing game for the Nintendo DSi Browser.  It pays homage to RPGs of the 4th generation console era (Super NES and SEGA Genesis), most notably the Final Fantasy series of Square Soft, now Square Enix.  Games of this period generally had two major components to them: tile-based levels and turn-based battles.  Thus, TMJ contains these by its very nature.

The Mystical Journey's story revolves around a party of heroes who are aiming to bring the blind Norse god Hoedr back to the other gods to save humanity.  Hoedr originally went into hiding after Loki tricked him into killing Baldr then passed the blame.  In their aggressive efforts to find Hoedr and put him to death, the other gods destroyed entire villages.  After realizing all the additional death at his own hand, Hoedr decides to face the consequences.  Yet, on the journey, the party discovers a terrible secret: The haephestusite sword the party used to shatter Hoedr's energy barrier after the Massacre at Bryn can channel power from other gods to the wielder.

is this going to be the summary for the entire game? i imagined that this current plot would be 9-10 episodes tops out of 100. I like the storyline similar to legend of dragoon. as soon as you think the story is over, a new plot unfolds to reveal a new mission.

This is like something you'd read on the back of a game box, nothing more.

oooooh thats awesome. Will there be a page like the back of the box? illustrations? screenshots?

It might be kind of fun to design a fake game box for the release.

yes! a virtual gamebox maybe. use those 3d java skills >.> which are probably ectremely hard to do. I looked at the demos on the front page though. Theyre cool.

*extremely... was a really tired back then? jeez... probably a typo. So Hull? do you think its time to maybe add some of these concepts to the new TMJ sub-domain? o.o also, maybe add a few features to the TMJ MMO and get users back on it. It really seems to have died down a lot.

I think the battle demo this month will really add to the interest of the game. I'll also get around to finishing Yortzee sometime soon. It probably has just a few hours of development before it's ready to release.
