Battles

An important aspect of The Mystical Journey is the fighting, since it allows characters to gain experience, items, and gold.  Some story elements may be revealed by climactic battles, as well.

One aspect that sets battles apart from the rest of the game is that the backgrounds are composed of photographs; whereas, the rest of the game comes from hand-drawn or procedurally-generated elements.

The table below shows the probability of encountering an enemy by walking between map tiles.

looks awesome. i shockingly cant think of many more scenarios.... maybe a cave? meadow? different terrain stats? How are the stats for certain enemy encounters going? example: maybe a very rare enemy could have a 0.01 chance encounter. it could hold a rare item 10% of the time.

We may be able to work that into the game. I guess that's something to think about.

yeah. i mean, some enemies could be very rare easter eggs. maybe?

also, certain items, like a chance encounter reducer or increaser. Those are going to be possible too?
