Johannes Wollebius

Johannes Wollebius (or Wolleb) was an important Reformed systematician from the late 16th and early 17th century.  He published a work called "Compendium of Christian Theology" that went through several reprintings and was translated into English.  Its greatest value lies in how it succinctly and concisely summarizes the Reformed faith against its various alternatives.

My favorite quote as it pertains to the nature of the Mosaic covenant is this:
XVI. They are deceived then who make Parallel distinctions of the Old and New Testament; of the Covenant of Works, and of Grace; of the Law, and Gospel: for in both, the Testament or Covenant is the Covenant of Grace; in both, the Law and Gospel are urged. (Pg. 173)
