being:
--noun: having existence; containing the qualities of an existent; being is predicated of substance and quantity. The word "is" (in all its forms, i.e., "was"; "were"; "will be"; "am"; "are"; etc) indicates being (existence) through implication: "I am." "The dog is sleeping."
There is a form of "is" called the "empty set". It consists of things which cannot be proved "necessary."The dog is sleeping" does not prove the dog exists; this argument is often used to prove why it is not necessary in logic that God exists.
"Being" accepted as necessarily independent of consciousness for (its) existence is called the Primacy of Existence .
--verb: acting in a manner consistent with (its) identity as an existant; a cause. "You are being a man when you act like one." "Being smart may help you earn a good job."
