How to Hit a Homerun
by Sabarish
I am a
expert at hitting homeruns in baseball. My dad to use to coach me from when I
was 5. Then when I was 6, I entered the
Morrisville Minor League Baseball. Me and my dad still enjoy playing baseball
together and practicing hitting the ball, catching the ball and fielding. My
dad use to play a lot of cricket. That’s how he got so good at baseball.
Cricket is very closely related to baseball.
To become an expert at
hitting a homerun, you have to gather the equipment. You will need baseball cleats, a baseball bat and
a baseball. You need baseball cleats because you need to do some stepping
forward if you want to hit a homerun. You have to hold the bat properly because
it will hurt your hands if don’t hold it properly. You should hold the bat with both hands
touching each other. Then practice swinging the bat so, you will not miss the
ball. Also, swing in a place where there is no people . You should swing as hard
as you can into a OPEN AREA. While doing that, you should step forward
with your front foot.
Finally, hit
the ball as the instructions are given so, you can hit a homerun.
If, it is a homerun, it
will go over the fence ,or, into the field. You should have ran all the bases.
If one of these didn’t happen it is not a homerun. Good luck on hitting your
homerun!
HOW TO BUILD A SNOWMAN
By ALI
I am an expert at building snowmen and I learned it by my self. All you
need to build a snowman is snow, two sticks, hat, six candies, carrot, buttons
and for your self a coat. You need all those supplies to make your snowman
better, more fun, and cool looking and to make a mouth, nose and eyes!
Something important about making a snowman is you need a place to put it
somewhere the sun doesn’t go much, so it won’t melt as fast, so not in the sun!
Then you need to make three round circles of snow, so you need to be good at
rounding snow! So you need to make three different sized snowballs, then you
need to make them stick together! The snowballs need one biggest, then a small
one for the head, then a medium sized one which goes in the middle it’s between
the other sizes. To make the snowballs stick, you need to keep tapping the snow
together until it stays and doesn’t fall apart that should help the snow stick
together! That should help you but don’t tap TOO HARD!!! Now you are ready to stack the snowballs on top
of each other, so I always
carefully pick up the medium sized snowball put it on top of the biggest
snowball, then put the smallest on the medium sized snowball!
Now
you are ready to make the face of your snowman! First you put two round candies
for the eyes, the carrot for the nose, the last four candies for the mouth any
way you want! The hat put on the head, put the scarf around his or her neck! So
the buttons go in a straight line down the other snowballs, the sticks for the
arms then your snowman is done hope you enjoy your snowman!!!
How to Make a Paper Airplane
By Rohan
I am an expert at making paper airplanes. I learned how to make and throw them from my
dad when I was about 6 years old. I still enjoy giving them to other people!
To properly make a paper airplane,
you first need to gather a pair of scissors and a piece of paper
(letter-sized). Then find a big table or a place where you can freely fit your
supplies. First take a corner of the paper and pull it across the paper until
the top of the paper is touching the left or right side. Keep it folded, and cut
off the paper that’s not folded. Next, unfold it and then fold it vertically
(hot-dog style). Unfold, and then take the top left or top right corner and
bring it down so that the corner is touching the crease that you made when you
folded the paper vertically. Do the same thing to the other corner, and keep on
doing it to them until you are satisfied. You have now successfully made a
paper airplane!
How
to use: Hold it with your right hand, and put your fingers like you would
with a pencil. Then make an ‘L’ shape with your arm and throw it a little
(about a foot) above the target. If it lands more than three feet away, you
need to adjust it so it is symmetrical and the point isn’t dull. Have fun
flying your new paper airplane!
