About "The Machine Stops"

Written in 1909 by E.M. Forster, The Machine Stops is a chilling short story about the role of technology in our lives. Forster has several prescient notions including instant messages (email!) and cinematophoes (machines that project visual images).

Miscellaneous Rants

* I normally don't have much interest in fashion.....but I have to say I'm really sickend by people wearing Keffiyeh's or scarves which resemble them to a close degree. Come on people! Do you really think it's a fashion statement or looks cool to dress like Terrorist Yasser Arafat?

* Kaity Tong - Is it just me, or is she the most irritating person on the evening news?

* Women on cellphones - Men win no prizes in this area, but I hold the highest scorn for women on this rant.
