The idea was born in June 2008 in Berlin during the first meeting of the presidents of Wirtschaftsweiber and of WyberNet.
It became clear that there is a need to further raise the profile of lesbians in business across Europe. We saw the first “Out for business” conference in Europe as an ideal event to launch a workshop on this topic and to kick off an initiative to establish relationships to equally minded organisations and individuals. Our proposal for “The L-World in Business” was selected among more than 300 submissions to the conference (Section "Out for Business"), is at the same time part of the 2nd annual congress of IGLCC and is sponsored by IBM.
This support has allowed us to develop a survey in seven languages promoted all over Europe in 2009. First results were presented at the workshop on July 29th 2009 in Copenhagen. The survey ended in 2010.
