We went to a spa resort called Aventura Spa Palace in the Riviera Maya for our honeymoon. My parents have a timeshare there so we got the all-inclusive package and Travis' parents paid for our honeymoon. We are very blessed by our parents.
While we were there, we laid by the pool a lot, drank a lot of mudslides and margaritas, played pool, went to Tulum the ancient Mayan ruins, watched movies while lying in bed, and played tennis. We also got massages and I got a mani/pedi (not Travis' thing). The resort even had a special Newlywed Dinner one night so we got to see a lot of the other honeymooning couples. It was a great time of relaxation and enjoying being married.
Every day, there was a different towel animal. This one was especially cute...
Travis on the steps of our resort
Laying on the "beach"--which is just a fancy name for an area covered with sand
Me on the beach
We went snorkling in the manmade lagooon--there was no real beach, which was a little disappointing but oh well. We still got to see some fish!

Dinner at one of the resort's fancy restaurants--this one served Mexican food.

Once Travis showed me how my camera could take timed pictures, I was obsessed. We had tried taking ones for this picture but Travis tipped over my wine and it spilled everywhere.
 |
We visited Playa del Carmen a couple of times. It was about 20 minutes north of our resort.
 |
Finally a real beach!! Except then we didn't have towels or our suits.

Chillin poolside before going to play tennis

A little village south of our resort (where we went to go deep sea fishing) had a big lagoon in the middle of the town where you could swim with the dolphins. They gave us a show as we waited to go fishing.

The fish I "caught"--one of our guides hooked the fish and then handed the rod to me to reel it in. I felt like I cheated.
 |
Travis got to reel in a 20-lb grouper. I was happy for him--he was the one who really wanted to go deep sea fishing so I'm glad it wasn't a total bust. But other groups caught things like swordfish and marlins. We were still a little bummed.

I like this picture with the rainbow. This was as we were leaving for Tulum, the only trip we went on that was included in our all-inclusiveness. We tried to go to Coba but Travis didn't feel well enough to go (which is saying something).

The main temple building of Tulum. Some of the parts were roped off--I would've loved to go exploring a little more! I find ruins like this fascinating. |

Gotta love the blue ocean. |

Doesn't Travis have a great smile? |

| This was our meal in Playa del Carmen on our last night in Mexico. It was a lot of food! (I also ordered a side of fried plantains, which you can see on the right. They are delish!) |
