The Horton River Band

Dorrigo Folk and Bluegrass Festival 2006.

Hello and welcome.

Dorrigo 2006 saw the return to the festival circuit of The Horton River Band.

The band's extensive repertoire draws on a wide spectrum of instrumental and vocal traditions. This includes the music of Frank Collins, Charlie Batchelor, Sally Sloane, Rita Croker, Jim French and Joe Cashmere and many other traditional players, as well as band compositions, and anything else we might care to play.

The unique blend of playing styles, using four fiddles, guitar and button accordions in many combinations was warmly received by a diverse and sophisticated listening audience. The workshop on the fiddle music of the late Charlie Batchelor(an original member of the HRB) conducted by Mark was well attended hopefully inspired many new players to become involved with playing traditional tunes.
