Today we opened our Reading Olympics with a torch relay. Mrs. Taylor was our leading leg who then passed the flame to Pre-K. We went from class to class passing the torch, picking up students, and participating in lots of cheering!
We then gathered together at our Opening Ceremony. Mrs. Ziegler lit the official torch. Ms. Clement led the elementary in our National Anthem. Mrs. Giuliani explained the events. The online reading experience didn't work (technology does that sometimes). All the students took a reading oath, which one fabulous fifth grader described as a "commitment."
We are all committed to the success of each and every student at Forest Park and cheer them on as they
"Read for the Gold!" Go Trojans!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DR. SEUSS!!
We started the day with a delicious breakfast of green eggs and ham. Thank you kitchen crew! Today was Hat Day in honor of the great Dr. Seuss. Teachers read
The Cat in the Hat and students came decked out with all sorts of hats. Tall hats, silly hats, baseball hats, sparkly hats, and even a homemade "alien" hat! Check out the slideshow below.

Happy Pajama Day! So far this has been the favorite day of our Spirit Week. Suprisingly, students were not at all sleepy sporting their pjs all day. In fact, they were quite spirited...which is what we're going for. :) I certainly enjoyed wearing my cozy pajama pants to work as well. Snuggle up with a book and READ!
