The Haven Summer Academy is a program for school aged children with the mission of providing a safe environment for them to learn, grow, and play.  The educational component is meant to supplement, not replace, what they learn or will learn in the public school system.  Each child will be evaluated based on grades, pre assessments, and surveys from the parents and child.  This information will be used to create the best possible learning plan for that child.  Physical activities and nutritional meals will be a part of every day in order to promote healthy behaviors and habits.  The students will also participate in sessions in which they will learn valuable life lessons and character traits through role play, discussion, and other hands on learning methods.  Parents will also be asked to volunteer their time, if possible, to help with certain initiatives during the summer.  The most important thing to remember is that it is not the responsibility of the child or teacher or parent alone to make sure that the child receives the most benefit from the program; it is our responsibility together.  Together we will achieve more than we could ever do apart.
