 The 'furriness' began in Pre-K when she wrote and illustrated her book, 'Cat the Bat', which soon led to a comic-panel sci-fi series about a crew of felines in outer space. Later stories led to superhero dogs, fantasy cats, and other creatures, beings both real and imagined. Her influences/interests run the gamut from mythology, fables, 1960s suspense tales, history, sociology, science, technology, required reading in school, SF/F (both films & books), foreign films, indie films, YA novels, illustrated children books, comic books, comic strips and graphic novels she grew up on (and still reads!). Carmen devours Japanese manga and other Asian-related media. She also attends Sci-Fi conventions and is a budding cosplayer. With six, published short stories under her belt, she hasn't stopped and continues trying to spin new tales, polish old ones, make new sketches and try not to go crazy in the process.
