Winner: Ryan Halprin ’12 as Roy in Trust Ryan Halpin’s Roy was a realistic everyman who competes with a pop idol for the attentions of the girl of his dreams. He was not too stable, not too confident, but the guy you just had to root for – heartbreaking and funny, gently weird, sympathetic but not a complete sad sack. Runner-Up: Adam Conner ’14 as Octavius Caesar in Antony and Cleopatra Adam Conner’s Octavius Caesar was a cold, sharp antagonist to the sensual leading pair; a thrilling political presence yet capable of compassion, Caesar was a compelling and sympathetic antagonist who complicated the morality of the play. Other Nominees: Peter Bestoso ’14 as Horatio in The Spanish Tragedy Peter Bestoso played Horatio, the young war hero of Spain, with a sweetness and strength that made you fall in love with him just in time for his brutal murder at the hand of his lover’s brother.Felix Cook ’13 as Leicester in Mary Stuart Felix Cook’s Earl of Leicester was cold as ice-water and disturbingly calculating in his betrayal of his true love Mary Stuart to Queen Elizabeth.Nasir Husain ’12 as Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet Nasir Husain’s Benvolio, established as lover to Mercutio in this production of Romeo and Juliet, served as chorus and audience liaison, winning the audience’s sympathy completely.Robert Knoll ’13 as Bradley in Mr. Marmalade Robert Knoll played Bradley, the imaginary abused servant to the also-imaginary cruel Mr. Marmalade, as darkly pitiful, and his character was a harsh reminder of just how corrupted both characters' imaginer's mind must be.Alex Raymond ’12 as Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet Alex Raymond’s Mercutio, paired with Nasir Husain’s Benvolio, was the passionate and energetic one of the pair. Gripping and visceral, Raymond made the audience laugh, cry, and sit on the edge of their seats.
