Plot - Events and Order When analyzing a story, students also need to be aware of the order of events and their outcomes. One may think of a timeline or encapsulate it in a headline or a news flash, as suggested in "Telling the Stories the Past Tells Us." I thought of mapping the events as they occurred and the order in which they occurred on Google Maps, embedding relevant icons to depict each event. Clicking on an icon provides a short description of each event and the characters participating in it and the order in which the events occurred. In this case the story was broken down into different story segments, and each map represents one such segment. The two event segments recorded in these maps are: "The Pearl - Preparing to leave" and "The Pearl Travel."
