On my report on Earth Day, I overall see that classes are really getting in tune with the program. Kids are being creative in recycling work, and by making sculptures out of recycled parts. Today, there was also demonstrations on how to recycle, and what happens if we don't. I have been reporting for 45 minutes now, and I see that we are going to have a great day!!

EARTH DAY ART MRS. MCKEON by Delaney M.

Why did you do this project on Earth Day using found objects to creqate art?

Since our resources were limited for the projects, we decided to go outside and use the playground. The Earth mural was the setting for the paperless art project reusing objects that were considered trash and discarded on the plyground.

The students worked in pairs & groups creating many different trypes of sculptures, drawings, shadow tracings, and other creative expressions.

We used chalk because it's only temporary, and it's recyclable.

I showed the students that you can reuse objects to create art, and not abuse resources. Photographs were taken of the art made, & each class "cleaned up the areas" so that other classes could use them.
