Presidential Primary Coverage Editorial by Jamie M., 310

I've met Hillary Clinton 3 times; Chelsea Clinton 5 times, and Bill Clinton twice.  I think Hillary Clinton would have been a good president! But unfortun-

ately, she lost the primary.  I wish Hillary would have won, but NOW, I'M ALL OBAMA !  If I could vote, Obama may have not been my 1st choice, but he is my next choice. So now, it's up to us to get out the vote for Obama!

So how is it between McCain and Obama? I think that McCain would be just as bad as our President Bush! But Hillary and Obama are different. They actually care about our troops and their families.

The Presidential Election

Barack Obama is, if you don't know, the first African American (that I know of) to run for President of the United States. Barack Obama, who is originally from Honolulu, is not only black, but has mixed ancestry as well. Obama is a U.S. Senator representing Illinois. Some facts about Barack Obama are that he has a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album for the audio edition of his book, "Dreams From My Father." Also, Obama is the first African American president of the Harvard Law Review. In his free time, he plays poker and basketball. Barack Obama is 6 ft. 1/2 in. (1.87 m) tall. In starting his campaign, he has stated he would not run any negative campaign ads for the presidency. Barack Obama has two daughters, Malia and Sasha. His wife's name is Michelle. Another fact about Obama is that he is a smoker. There is a chance that Obama will be our president, which will be a milestone in American history.  By Jaya M., 310

(continued from the previous column)  I feel Bush and McCain want our troops to stay in the war!  That's crazy, too many troops have died as it is! The children and adults who live in Iraq are also dying from bombs that are going off during the war. They are scared for life because they see how many people die or get injured everyday! There are many more issues that I believe that Obama will go after. He feels strongly about global warming, gun safety, gas prices, fixing the No Child Left Behind, and other programs.

BLACK HERSTORY

The reason why I used "herstory" instead of "history," is because my African American history project is on two females (and I'm a girl). One of the women I did my African American history project on was  Dr. Susan McKinney Stewart. She was born Susan Maria Smith in Brooklyn, New York on March 18, 1847. When she was a little girl, she was trained as an organist. She had teaching qualifications.
