The College of Stoic Philosophers

THE COLLEGE MAIN SITE HAS MOVE - YOU CAN NOW FIND US AT

THANK YOU.

The College was founded on the 5th of July, 2008, as an open Internet school to encourage a life-long pursuit of philosophy as the love of wisdom. For the Stoic philosopher, this is, and always has been, the foundation for daily practice in the art of living. The College currently offers a Stoic Essential Studies (SES) program, which takes 4-6 months, depending on the commitment of the student. Completion of the SES program qualifies the student for a Certificate of Completion suitable for framing.

Admissions and Fees. The College accepts all students without regard to age, gender, race, religion, or nationality. However, in order to be accepted into the SES program the student must be at least a high school graduate, preferably with some college, no longer a student, and gainfully employed or retired. There currently are no fees required for the SES program.

The Methodology of the College is based primarily upon the self-education of distance learning, but each student will be assigned a Mentor to work with him or her in becoming a knowledgeable and practicing Stoic. Mentors and students correspond by email, and these exchanges between student and Mentor provide an opportunity to examine any issues, questions, or problems that arise. In the case of more advanced work that may require the insight and expertise of a scholar, the College is fortunate to have Fellows of the College who have agreed to be available for that purpose.
