About Us

SHA EH GUSH        “Wellknown Buffalo” -
was a traditional Crow Indian woman, a mother, an herbalist and a healer.  The Center Pole non-profit organization is on her land: Allotment 916 East Well Known Buffalo, assigned to her by the United States Government in the 1800’s.

In the midst of Montana’s famous mountain landscapes, lies an untold story
of a forgotten community that struggles daily  with the burdens of poverty.

At The Center Pole, a non-profit organization for youth on the Crow Indian Reservation,

children are empowered to reach beyond that poverty  and follow their dreams.

Here, children hone their natural creativity
and ingenuity through entrepreneurship, academics, volunteering and traditional ways.
