The CD Project has always existed.
It has been floating about the air surrounding you, tickling your nose.
Or, as a tiny spec on your foggy glasses.
Walking the streets of your neighborhood.
Maybe even sipping on your Coca-Cola flavored Icee.
Now it's finally knocking at your door. And won't go away. What are you going to do?
Contribute. Contribute. Contribute.
Send your anonymous work to the.cd.project@gmail.com
Contribute to the Universe. To what makes you happy. To randomness. To feel. To fun. To Buddha. To Art. To the love of creating. To vent out your frustrations. To say something. To say nothing. To be. To communicate.
To share. To think. To forget. To find out why you contributed in the first place. To CREATE.
In a nutshell, this project is about creating and releasing. Think of it as a sort of mental punching bag, or a brand new set of wings. Whatever your state of mind may be, no matter what it is you set free, do it creatively.
First and foremost, it doesn't matter who you are. No one will know. No one needs to know.
All submitted pieces are sent out anonymously. What does that entail exactly?
Contributed pieces should omit your name, signature, initials, email, phone number, address. Basically anything identifying you. Remember, the whole point of this project is to create, which is rewarding in itself. There will be no ego stroking. No first prize winner. No fame. The project welcomes anyone who creates (singers, graphic designers, painters, photographers, sketch artists, writers). Don't think of yourself as an artist? Doesn't matter. Submit your creation!
Send in anything that can be received via email and then be burned onto a CD (a photograph, video, document). Note that email addresses will remain confidential.
Files shall be picked at random resulting in an assortment of anonymous creations. The fully loaded CD will then be attached to an environmentally friendly latex balloon (the physics behind this has already been researched) and released into the world with the message Play Me. Then what?
If curious enough, recipients will play their new found treasure and witness art in all its glory, in all shapes and forms. They are encouraged to contribute by sending an email to the CD Project with the location information. And perhaps, in the future, send in some of their own work.
N.B: Obviously, there is no guarantee that the CD will make it to an accessible place. It could, sadly, end up in the Gulf of Mexico or land on the freeway and be crushed to pieces before even being played.
It's all about word of mouth. So spread. Spread the word. Create for the sake of creating. So go on, make & create!
