When London Police Constable Caine is transferred to the sleepy village of Red Meadows from the city, she anticipates a quiet life, with garden fetes and festivals to impress investors and grant boards to rejuvenate the area.  All of this is put at risk when a World War II bomb is unearthed and detonated letting loose a hidden horror.
 
At each full moon a series of grisly mutilations follow and the reputation of Red Meadows is under threat. But what is causing this mayhem ... a wild beast or a madman hell-bent on destruction.
 
After Caine is attacked and hospitalised she has an unexplainable recovery that forces her to question her own transience.  Teaming up with biologist Guy Susman she sets out to uncover the truth about the village’s secret and stop the mounting deaths. She has to face the question of whether there is something far more sinister and monstrous at work in what was  once the safest, idyllic village in Britain?
