The Bow Bar has been awarded best Whisky Bar in the UK by the Good Pub Guide. Tempest Night on October 26th from 6pm. Allan from the brewery will be along for a tasting and a chat, also there will be 8 of their beers on the bar all at the same time! September 2011 The Bow Bar is under new management, but don't expect any changes. Perhaps some new whiskies and beers, but still the same ol' Bow. We wish Helen all the best of luck. With the heavy rain over the weekend, we were forced to shut after the ceiling nearly collapsed. Everything is now fixed and we have reopened

This may came as no surprise to some. The Bow Bar was recently award by CAMRA as Edinburgh City Pub of the Year for 2011, and then we also won the Regional Award for Edinburgh and South East Scotland. We now go into the National draw for best pub in Scotland. January 2011 Happy New year everybody, to kick off the new year we will be treating you with a Winter Beer Festival. Starting on the 27th January till 6th February and showcasing 60 ales from around the UK with plenty of winter warmers and strong dark ales, and we mean strong! Enjoy this summer with a bottle of Goose Island Summertime (4.7%) now in stock. Let's just hope we get the weather for it! We now provide two bottled beers that are Gluten Free, the Green's Pils at 4.8% and the darker Green's Endeavour at 6%, from Belgium
As of the beginning of the month, The Bow Bar will be staying open till 12 midnight on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights June 2010 Our Guest Bottle beer is now Flying Dog Pale Ale May 2010 We are now going to have a guest bottle beer to add to our collection, we will be starting this off with the Bacchus Frambozenbier. March 2010 A new member of the bottle beer family has been added, the multi award winning Little Creatures Pale Ale from Fremantle, Western Australia We now have free WiFi in the bar. February 2010 Our bottle beer selection has reached 20, with Bernards Celebration arriving, voted the best beer in the Czech Republic.

Thank you to everyone that made a donation to the moustached box. The Bow Bar managed to raise just over £300 towards 'Movember'.
November 2009
This November, all of the 'Male' staff members will be growing their moustaches. This is in support of 'Movember' which aids research in to prostate cancer treatment. Donations can be made at the bar.
