The Boardwalk Cafe, the Valley's original specialty hot dog eatery, is the perfect place to bring your whole family for great food and a fun time. Owners Jane & Steve Pittella have created a friendly neighborhood spot where folks can relax and enjoy a casual meal or snack in a comfortable setting. Steve enjoys entertaining customers with professional magic and captivating balloon animal sculptures while Jane is busy creating in the kitchen. Family-friendly special events are often "on the menu" at the Boardwalk, such as works by local artists, entertainment, kids' crafts, and holiday programs. Check out what's happening on our Facebook page, or call the Cafe for details.
The Boardwalk is best known for its unique twist on one of our country's favorite foods: Nathan's frankfurters, 100% pure all-beef quarter-pounders - just one makes a meal! These are no ordinary dogs, as each is named for an American city or state, prepared with toppings that reflect that location, and served on an oversized hearth-baked bun. You can order the N.Y. City, a steamed pushcart-style dog with Sabrett's sweet tomato onion sauce, or with mustard and sauerkraut (if you can't decide which to choose, ask for it "half-and-half"!). The Virginia Classic, with cheese, onions and all-beef chili, has become a local favorite. Or try the Boardwalk, served on a pretzel bun with the Boardwalk's special homemade slaw. Then there's the one that really has everyone talking: the Elvis' Memphis, crowned with peanut butter, bananas, and crisp bacon - it truly is fit for "The King". Our customers order it on a whim (or a dare), and those who give it two thumbs-up can have their photos appear on the Boardwalk's Elvis' Memphis Wall of Fame -- you never know who you'll see there! Also, be sure to check out the "Hot Dog of the Week" plus any specials on our Facebook page.
You'll find hot panini, cold sandwiches, Italian sausage & peppers subs, meatball Parmesan subs, baked-to-order jumbo soft pretzels, and deli-style potato knishes on the menu. There's a wide selection of cold drinks, hot and iced coffee and tea, breakfast sandwiches, fresh-baked sweet treats, and authentic Italian ices. You can also enjoy homemade specials and soups, Sicilian Pizza (made-to-order, call 1 day ahead), plus vegetarian and gluten-free choices.
