Currently we provide services to children living in the Greater Kansas City area, including Kansas and Missouri. Due to recent insurance reforms in each of these states, we are currently in the credentialling process to become ABA service providers through multiple private insurance companies in the area. We are currently able to provide insurance-covered (in-Network) ABA through TRICARE, Cigna HMO and PPO, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC), LifeSynch, ValueOptions, MHNet Behavioral Health, Coventry, Aetna, and Humana for those who have ABA included in their plans. We are in the process of being credentialled through Blue Cross Blue Shield, and United. We are also starting the credentialling process with Magellan.
Please note, in Kansas, state employees and their families are the only consumers with mandated ABA coverage for children with autism. However, KCBA has worked with clients and their insurance companies... and in several cases, even though the insurance carriers were not state-employees, their insurance company agreed to cover the cost of their ABA services! Again, if you are not a state-employee, the state of Kansas doesn't currently require your insurance company to cover your ABA costs. However, KCBA can work with you and your insurance to attempt to get ABA for your child covered.
In Missouri, mandated insurance coverage for children with autism also begins January 2011. Coverage extends beyond state employees. If your family has insurance coverage, chances are that ABA therapy for your child with autism will be covered by your insurance! Even if your insurance company is not listed above, feel free to call us. We will work to get the credentialling process started for your particular insurance company.
