Big Picture

Kansas City Behavior Analysts offers The Big Picture, a group for elementary and middle school students with social delays.  Our program is designed for children who do well academically, but struggle socially to keep up with their peers.  Using evidence-based methods grounded in Applied Behavior Analysis, we address important social behaviors including group skills, listening skills, self-awareness and self-monitoring, perception taking and conversational skills.  Our twice weekly groups incorporate a lesson, skill practice, video modeling and review.  Additionally, weekly videos are sent home to practice and incorporate lesson review at home as well.

We are careful in selecting the best possible peer matching with your child.  By assessing each child individually, interviewing parents and reviewing all relevant social materials, we are careful in selecting the best possible peer match for your child. By keeping our groups small, and having two therapists at each group, we will work to identify your child’s strengths and needs and collaborate with you to make meaningful and measurable progress in your child’s social development.

Our social programs utilize concepts developed by Michelle Garcia Winner.  To learn more about Michelle and her treatment approach, visit www.socialthinking.com
