 Set when the Dark Ages are born anew, the world is in peril as humanity faces the danger of annihilation. The king is assassinated by the malevolent under-earth dwellers plotting to overtake the surface lands, forcing the bereaved queen to place her only surviving offspring into the position of Battle Lord. THE BATTLE LORD begins at summer solstice, outlining villages are taken and the king is murdered. Eager to save her daughter’s life, Queen Glianna makes a pact with the goddess of the afterlife, for which she pays a price. As sole heir, Drakara accepts the commission of Battle Lord, commanding the forces of Tulora, a position she spent over twenty years training for. Assisted by the First Commander, Boric, and the Advisor to the Crown, Toran, the Battle Lord leads the conflict in order to reclaim their lands. Along the way bonds are made with a unique cast. A mysterious warrior named Lannyn, who appears to fight beside them, who later leaves without explanation, other than betrayal. Shandon, who controls the Alkerian army, joins the quest against the Selgai and the wizard they follow who proclaims to be a god. Baranda, reared from a dark past, belongs to the feared sect of Shinhaad, trained to extract confessions. A Seer woman, Reann, holds knowledge that she is forbidden to share, and the Paladin, Vetronni, whose patron is one of the Ancients, travels with Xarlin, a war-wizard.

THE BATTLE LORD offers a multitude of realistic characters and newly devised creatures. It reveals lost concepts of magic, along with insight to ancient beliefs and how the deities manipulate the destiny of mankind. Its sequel, The PROMISE of the ANCIENTS, is nearly complete with the following books being ‘works in progress’, The UNIFICATION, The REIGN of the CHOSEN, and Excido Adluvio - The FORGOTTEN LANDS.
