Officiated Umpires

Officiated Umpires are entitled to umpire domestic ACA-ÖCV Competition Matches. The appointed umpires by AUCUS for the competitions in the season 2009 can be found at the ACA fixture-list (see http://sites.google.com/site/cricketaustria/competitions/2009-open-league/fixtures2009 ).

Parmjit Singh is on behalf of AUCUS responsible for appointing the umpires for ACA-ÖCV Competitions. In any case of not available for an umpire duty please get in contact with Parmjit.

Selection procedure/criterias:

Umpires will be selected from the Umpire Pool (see attachment 'AUCUS Umpire Pool 2009 -0525). At the moment  Level 1 Umpire Course is the highest certificate in Austria. People who passed the Level 1 Course will be preferred. Umpires from the Extended Umpire Pool will be appointed in exceptional cases.

Another criteria for selecting is the performance on the field. To receive ‘objective data’ for the performance of the umpires, we need the feedback of the captains by filling out the ‘Captains Report on umpires’ (see attachment 'AUCUS Captains' Report on Umpires 2009 02 16'). This is a means of improving the quality of umpiring in Austria.

Moreover, ICC ECB ACO offers 'Boundary Assessment' for qualified umpires (i.e. at least level 1) which AUCUS will use for its members in future.

Payment of Officiated Umpires

The ACA member clubs pay a stipulated sum to AUCUS. AUCUS pays the Officiated Umpires (see table 'Umpiring Service Fees 2009 by AUCUS').
