ECC is asking AUCUS for nominating umpires for the ECC Indoor Championship, Netherlands from 13 - 15 February, 2004. If you are interested in it please fill in the attached form and send it to AUCUS at January 5th  2004 at the latest.

AUCUS in association with the Austrian Cricket Association is planing to organize the ECC Intro Umpiring & Scoring Seminar over the weekend of March, 5 - 7 2004 in Vienna.

AUCUS was pleased to send two umpires, Graham Tebb and Walter Blaschke to the Pakistan Embassy Cup where over 250 guests enjoyed a great Cricket match,  buffet, and Live music. The Trophy was presented by the representative Ambassador. Thanks to the organizers.

AUCUS managed to send two umpires, Graham Tebb and Walter Blaschke, to the Velden Sixes, an international six-a-side tournament. Except the great performance and fairness of the participating teams, the extraordinary hospitality of Velden CC91 has to be mentioned. Mr. Wolfgang Ovedasso, director of Ovedasso Gastronomie, presented the Velden Six Trophy to the winning side Ljubljana CC.

Special thanks to Graham Cooper who visited Austria for the second time. We all learned a lot from Graham who observed us when we were umpiring during this weekend.

Invitation for Umpiring at the International "Six-a-Side" Tournament at Velden from 12. - 13. July

Velden CC is organising its International "Six-a-side" Tournament at Velden from 12. - 13. July. Eric Holmes requested AUCUS to send two umpires. The costs for the weekend (travel costs, accomodation, meals and umpiring fees) will be covered by Velden CC. Details on the tournament will be supplied as soon as possible.

Laws of Cricket (2000 Code 2nd Edition - 2003)

The proposed changes to the Laws of Cricket were approved at a Special General Meeting of MCC last week. The amended Code will take effect from 1st September, 2003, to dovetail in with the normal timing for  introduction of updated ICC Playing Conditions. See the attached summary.

Graham will primarily observe / assess the umpires from Austria who are nominated for the ECC Trophy. For that reason Graham will watch the following matches:

7th June / 11:00: ACC vs VCC / OL Match at ACC Stadion Vienna
Umpires: Sandeep Khanna (LCC) & Graham Tebb

8th June / 11:00: Lords CC vs Pak Falcons CC at Seebarn Ground 1
Umpires: Helmuth Zikuda (VCC) & Walter Blaschke (ACC)

Every umpire and scorer and, of course, everyone who is interested in this practical session please come to the ground. You will learn a lot from Graham.

Due to our compact match schedules, UNCC, Ljubjlana CC and Zagreb CC are playing their League Matches in Valburga (Slovenia) during this weekend. Hence, they can't attend to this practical session. Sorry for these guys but I am sure that we will see Graham frequently here in Austria. 

We are all happy to see Tim Hind, former captain of UNCC and vice-captain of the Austrian National Team, again on a Cricket field after the tragic occurence two years ago. Tim umpired the OL Match ACC vs. FCCC and he did an excellent job. We hope to see Tim, Jane and his son, a talented young Cricketer, now often on the Cricket ground. Thanks to Brian Lewis, President of the UNCC, for his work and support.
