WEEKLY COMMUNITY CLASSES: Open/ Drop-In Community Classes are offered for new or current students interested in learning about Aztec dance and drumming every Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at Roosevelt Community Center, located at 901 East Santa Clara Street, San Jose CA. This class covers both drumming and dance forms & techniques for beginning and intermediate students. The class is divided into three parts and usually starts with some drumming drills, dancing form and technique warm-ups, and ends with a short cardio dance workout.  The class is intended for beginners to intermediate students- no previous experience is necessary. Per the Center's rules- students must be at least 14 years or older to participate in fitness classes.  Although class instruction is free, the Roosevelt Community Center requests $1 dollar per student/ per each class at the Sign-In table for the use of their facility space to hold open community classes. Please wear appropriate workout clothes and bring water bottle and a notebook/ pen for each class. Note: No Red or Blue clothing is allowed at the center. TEZKATLIPOKA DANZANTES: Closed Group practices for Tezkatlipoka Group Members who are intermediate to advanced members (or Danzantes from other calpulli's) are held on Wednesdays from 7:15--9:00pm at the San Jose Woman's Club.  Please speak with group leader/ class teacher to inquire about attending closed practice or becoming a group member. 
 
EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS/ RESIDENCIES: Tezkatlipoka Aztec Dance & Drum also offers educational and cultural workshops and residencies for schools, cultural groups, community organizations, etc. Traditional musical instruments such as hand carved drums, hand drums, hand and ankle pod rattles are utilized to make music to ancient Aztec beats. Arts and craft workshops for youth are also available for either school settings, community events or outdoor festivals.  Please call 408.886.1069 or email David for more information.
