  • All Arthur books now available
All four King Arthur books by Howard Pyle are now available on Amazon. We are very pleased to have finished the fourth and final book (and The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood) this year. Once again, the illustrations turned out beautifully and Pyle's style or writing is engaging. There is much in this last book that is sad, but much that is not sad, and we hope you enjoy it. Check out the catalog!

  • The Story of the Grail and the Passing of Arthur
It is very pleasurable to announce that the Merry Adventures of Robin Hood is now available on Amazon, and the woodcut prints look absolutely amazing. This is by far the nicest typesetting and images we've produced so far. It's a pleasure just to hold.

Additionally we have begun work on the final book in the Arthur series and view coming to the end of the series with mixed feelings. As Pyle says in his introduction, there is much in this that is sad but much that is not sad. Currently we have finished chapter 5 and will continue to move along, to hopefully be done within a month.

  • The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood
The only republished version I know of in recent history was a modified version with different pictures. The language had been slightly updated and many paragraphs removed to make the typesetting a bit more convenient.

Here, in unabridged form, is a completely re-typeset version. We worked long and hard on this one (albeit we enjoyed ourselves immensely while doing so). The old woodcuts reproduce beautifully and I'm very excited about this book. Truly a classic and truly a lovely book. We hope that readers will be able to enjoy this for many years to come.

  • Proofs in truth!
The proofs for the first three volumes have arrived. King Arthur and His Knights is in the process of being approved and the other two (Sir Launcelot and his Companions / The Champions of the Round Table) are approved and within a few weeks should start showing up listed in Barnes and Noble and Amazon. In order to keep the cost down to those who would like to buy, the price has been set up as $14.99 per volume, which is extremely reasonable (if I were to set it up with regular book stores, we would have had to charge $27 to not take a loss).

The intention behind these republications is to keep the cost as low as possible and give the reader a really nice copy of some classic books. That said---we do want to make our money back. To give you an idea, the set-up costs for getting it printed, ordering ISBNs, and receiving a proof, all amount to approximately $125-$150 (not including time and skill spent in typesetting and proofing). At the amount of profit I've set for these books, we'll need to sell a hundred or more to regain that expenditure. Hopefully that will happen over the course of several years.

So, should you happen to order a book, congratulate yourself that you are receiving an excellent deal and hopefully you enjoy the reading experience!
