Ever heard of a capybara? An agouti? a coatimundi? These are just a few of the rare and unique animals that students will meet and learn about when the critically acclaimed Wildlife Encounters presents its 'Wonders of the Rainforest' program at TES on Friday, Nov., 20th. Sponsored by the Tewksbury Township PTA, this special assembly is designed to introduce, support, and reinforce the second grade unit on Rainforests for grades 1 through 3. We are exceptionally pleased to be able to underwrite this high quality educational program for our students. Wildlife Encounters works with "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom," and they are currently featured on Animal Planet. Using their animal "co-educators," the program will teach students about the unique habitats, animals, and products of the South American rainforest. Presenters will talk about the area's unique natural history and geography during the 45 minute program.

The PTA is also actively working on bringing a highly educational and entertaining holiday time assembly on the immigrant experience to TES in December. More details to follow!

*Animal educators are dependent on availability and individual state and federal regulations. Actual animals will be chosen from the following list:  Sloth, Honey Bear,  Coatimundi,  Armadillo, Hornbill, Prehensile Tailed Porcupine,  Parrot,   Marmoset, Bush Baby,   Capybara,   Lemur,   Agouti,  Skink,   Four-eyed Oppossum, Rainforest Frogs
