It's happened again! One minute I'm writing about the upcoming summer event calendar and then I blink and I'm writing about the Christmas holiday season and all the fun parties we have the opportunity to participate in. I think my time machine is stuck on warp drive. Anyway, as Claude has mentioned in the blog spot, we really did have a busy and exciting summer season. We enjoyed meeting old friends and making new ones. Had a blast on the water for Aquapalooza, did the Music In The Park Concert series again and many, many marina parties. Anyone that wanted to catch the act had plenty of opportunites to see us and have a good time singing, dancing or just having a fun experience.
The good news? We'll be back for many of the annual events next year like Aquapalooza and Music in the Park and many of the summer parties.
The bad news? We've decide to take this New Years off and do private celebration with our families. It is only the second time in 23 years that we have not played at New Years.
So from Passport, we wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season and hopefully we we'll all get together next year to sing and dance.

Can you believe it? The Summer and then the Holiday season went by in a blur for us here in Passport. We had many bookings throughout the Summer, Fall and Winter. Noteable were the Aquapalooza event at Giants Tomb Island, Party On The Dock in Midland and of course the many, many summer marina bashes that opens up our summers. The Christmas spirit was again upon us and we helped many businesses with their event and lastly we had our New Years bash at the Midland Curling Club for it's members. A fun time had by all!
So looking forward we are now just starting to put together our new playlist and add as much new material as we can to make sure that you have something new to enjoy when we meet again. Please, if you have and suggestions, feel free to add them on our request page located on the left. We'll see what we can do to learn it/them. This really helps us with picking new material.
As mentioned last year we were just starting the recording process to (finally) put out a CD of Passports greatest hits and are still working towards that goal and hopefully will have something to give out by mid year. It is a slow process but fun and exciting which helps us creatively with our arrangements. The absolute hardest part is deciding which numbers to include on the 1 hour CD. Everyone has their favourites but if you have any suggestions we'd be happy to entertain them.
So that's it for now, hope to see you this summer at one of the gigs, until then be safe and get ready for another exciting year with Passport.

Here it is, spring again. Flowers are blooming, the robins are back and I can see my driveway again! And we are rarin' to rock and roll. We spent most of our winter since New Years studiously recording some of our songs so we can produce a CD that feels like us. Each song was recorded in their entirety at one time so we could reprorduce that "live" feeling. Our goal is to have a recording that represents us, as you hear us in the audiene. All that is left to do, now that the hard part is done, is do what is called a "mix down". This is a process where we listen to the song and adjust the volume levels for each instrument and balance the sound before we commit it to a CD. Our hope is we'll have a complete, finished version by early June. After that you'll be able to have your very own official Passport CD copy to enjoy any time you like!
We are starting back with an open dance that is held at the Penetanguishene Curling Club on May 9th. This is a fund raiser and your help would be appreciated. And you can have a good time with Passport. Dance and sing the night away.
Hope to see you soon.

I can't believe that winter, Christmas and New Years is here already! It seemed like I was just in shorts, sandals and tee shirt, writing the wrap up to the 08 summer season and thanking everyone for their participation and here it is snowing and blowing with only 27 days to New Years.
This holiday season we are performing for many private holiday functions and I'm sorry to say no public events. We do have a very limited number of tickets available for a New Years dance, less than 20, but these are going fast. Please see the past announcements on how to purchase a ticket. But never fear we have a bucket full of open events starting in 2009 and hope to see you all there. We are still discussing the possibility of an open dance for the spring that will be a theme dance. Maybe Valentines or perhaps St Patrick's Day or even a Spring Into Summer dance, but at this time all these are just ideas with no substance. Please watch this site for any more information about these events.
So having updated you as to what we are doing for the next couple of months, it is now time to say, "Have a safe and fun filled holiday season with best wishes from your friends of Passport."

Well, it's that time of year where we, Passport have our holidays and catch up time. As most of you know we play almost every weekend and some week days during the summer months of May through September. So we use this early fall time of inactivity to recharge our musical batteries (so to speak). So Bruce is off on a Caribbean cruise (LUCKY GUY!) A couple of the Gang will be taking vacation time to go north for hunting and fishing fun. Some of us will be enrolling in night school activities and with the rest of our "free" time, as we all hold down full time jobs during the day, we'll spend with our families and friends.
It's now time to concentrate on learning new tunes to be played during the up coming holiday season. And also, due to many fans requests, we are going to spend some time laying down some tracks for a CD which we hope will be available shortly after the new year. This recording will by no means be a professional job, just something we'll cook up in the practice dungeon! Don't forget to add your favourite song to our request list from the link on the left of the page.
This summer was one of the best times we had as a group and we are happy that you joined us on our musical journey this summer. From the island shores of Giants Tomb Island and the Aquapalooza gang, to the Summer Dock Party in Midland to those very festive and relaxed gigs of Music in the Park, Little Lake Midland and the Friends of the Centennial Museum in Penetanguishene, our musical appetite has been filled! For now.
Thank you all for a great summer and we hope to see you all this coming holiday season. Be safe and well!
Your friends from Passport - Bob, Dana, Roy, Rene, Claude, Bruce and Mike
