Luke McKay is the newest Graduate student in the Teske Lab. Here you see him getting ready for his first Alvin dive to the Guaymas Basin hydrothermal vents in December 2008. Luke is going to work on uncultured archaea in marine sediments, combining quantification of cell number and gene expression of archaea in their sedimentary environment, with gene sequencing and functional/phylogenetic identification. |
