Goodrich and Maurine Winters Trade Paperback ISBN: 0-595-24893-4 DESCRIPTION Angels on Temple Square is a collection of thoughts, feelings and experiences that happened on Temple Square in the heart of Salt Lake City, Utah. The angels are the sister missionaries who serve there from many countries speaking up to 42 languages at any given time. The people involved in this collection of stories share them to help others throughout the world who are on a quest to come unto Christ. Anyone who ever visited Temple Square had an experience similar to at least one of the stories
that is written within the pages of this book. The conversion stories of sister
missionaries will touch your heart when you see how much many of them sacrificed
so they could come and serve there. It is amazing to see all the tapestry that
was involved with each sister no matter what country she was from. It really
brings out the point that God loves all that want to serve Him equally anywhere
on Earth. The other half is full of spiritual experiences that visitors enjoyed
regardless their background while walking around Temple Square in company of
sister missionaries. It is a great addition to your library or a great gift for
anyone who visited Temple Square before.
ABOUT THE AUTHORS Joyce K.Goodrich of Farmington, UT and Maurine E.Winters of Toppenish, WA along with their husbands served together as missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at Temple Square in Salt Lake City. "Someone should write a book about the sister missionaries on Temple Square and the great miracles that happen there..." So many of the senior couples serving a mission on Temple Square made that statement that after their missions, Joyce and Maurine decided to make that statement come true. This book is an attempt to record some of the miracles Joyce Kay Goodrich was born in Lovell, Wyoming. She attended Antelope Valley Jr. College and Utah State U. She and her husband Gary M. Goodrich have been married for 52 years and have 6 children. They have served two full-time missions, one being at Temple Square, and have been part-time church service missionaries at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City for 7 years. Joyce has always had an interest in writing, mostly for church, school and family. She especially enjoyed writing prize winning roadshows, skits, and chidren's programs. When her children were grown Joyce began taking classes in writing and joined the League of Utah Writers where she won several awards. She served as President of the Bountiful League of Utah Writers in 2005. Maurine, a native of Bicknell, Utah, attended Wayne High School and received a B.A. degree from Utah State University. She met and married her husband there and they have been active in Church work, holding many positions over the years. One of Maurine's interests has been genealogy work and with that came an interest in keeping journals and writing histories. Maurine and her husband, Bob Winters, have 5 children. When she and her husband served on Temple Square 1996-1997, 1999-2000, then again for six weeks around the Olympics in 2002, Maurine kept a journal of the wonderful stories she heard from the sister missionaries. This book is an attempt to record some of the miracles that occured on Temple Square, tell about this wonderful mission, the sisters who come to Temple Square to serve, the effect they have on the guests who come, and the results of some of those experiences. These faith-promoting stories of those that served with them. REVIEWS "Thanks for writing a book! I enjoyed it very much.
