Unity please!

This is (author’s name) begging all of you to unite.  We cannot blame Weyane for being uncompromising and insensitive when we cannot even reconcile small differences between brothers in the Kinijit fold.  Did any one kill any one's relatives to harden your hearts to this degree?  Yabat geday enquan yikir yobalal!

There is Kinijit leadership which has given up all comfort, family, friends and their wealth for the sake of all of us, many in their seventies, and here are some of you trying to advance some inconceivable and baseless group interest and accusing others of being anti-Kinijit.   As someone wrote today, in Amharic, Kinijit is one and Ethiopia is one, and Kinijit's leadership is in prison for just one cause: freedom and democracy for all Ethiopians!  Not for AEUP, not for Kestedemena, not for EDL and not for UEDP.

Are you not ashamed of your miserable failure to settle differences at the negotiating table?

What good is a doctorate or a masters or a bachelor's degree if the holders continue to behave like feudal creatures?   How can Weyane do better when you appear just as bad as Weyane in splitting the forces of Kinijit?  Do you realize that this past 17 months have been practically wasted without much to talk about by way of achievement from a badly divided House?

What else did Lidetu do other than destroying Kinijit and assisting Weyanne in sending our leaders to jail?  Your assistance has also been in wasting time on in-fighting to give Weyane time to keep our leaders in jail, and dividing Kinijit in the Diaspora, and that is not different in its effect from that of Lidetu.

Don' t you realize that thousands have been either murdered or imprisoned or  forced out of their homes, or forced to emigrate, and there you are fighting one another when there is such a brutal common enemy ?  Did you know about what happened in Welayita, Agewmidir, North Wello, Afar, North Shoa, Addis Ababa and other areas well before October 2004?   Thousands were killed or driven out of their homes for advancing the cause of freedom and democracy.  That blood that they spilt was not yewisha dem!  They did it for you and me, and here you are completely forgetting that proud legacy!

Are you not creating more pain to Kinijit's leaders and to all of us here?  The fact that they have not spoken out cannot be comfort to you.

I call upon Engineer Mogus, Ato Solom Bekele, Ato Berhane Mewa, Dr. Mogus, Shaleka Yoseph Yazew and Ato Andargachew Tsege to take urgent, firm and unconditional steps for reconciliation.   I know you can do it, and I know there is that Kinijit spirit in your hearts to pressure you all to do it!

Please, for the sake of the thousands that died for you and me, and the leaders that are in jail for you and me,  give up all causes that led to the split, and get together to figure out how to move forward together to advance the date for the release of our gallant leaders!  Time is running out, and there is no more time for in-fighting!  Ethiopia still expects you to stand above all personal vanity and make sacrifices for Kinijit together, just like the leaders in qaliti jail!

Let us unite, make the push for freedom together, and our leaders will soon be out!
