Telgar Weyr is not a safe place to live. People mysteriously vanish out of beds. Eight goldriders have died under odd circumstances, one after another. Those who speak against the Weyrleader seem to find life going bad for them... Those who whisper about the deaths of the Weyrwomen tend to follow them. 

And yet... And yet...

Idealists continue to transfer to the Weyr. Trouble makers, or the nastier crop of riders are often banished there. The Holds are cowed, the crafters live under a shadow, but things could be worse...

And probably will be.

After all, that's what the BoD does best, isn't it?
