Leader Training

Mandatory:

• Youth Protection Training
  Youth Protection Training ensures boys involved in scouting are kept safe. Mandatory for unit-level leaders. At least one adult on every Scout outing must be Youth Protection Trained.
• Fast Start Training
  Fast Start training is the first step for any new volunteer and is to be delivered immediately after a new leader registers and before he or she meets with any youth member. Fast Start training provides immediate help for the new leader by providing information and examples for planning and conducting the first meeting. This self-study training is available online, on VHS and DVD, and CD-ROM.
• Basic Leader Training
  A 1-2 hour training session, typically offered on weekends, during selected District Roundtables, and at the annual Leader's Pow-Wow. Comprised of two parts:
• New Leader Essentials
  for all unit-level leaders in Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, and Venturing
• Leader Specific Training
  based on the leader's unit-level position

• Pow Wow/University of Scouting
• Roundtable
• Unit Leadership Enhancements
• Outdoor Leader Skills for Webelos Leaders (OWL)
  This training provides specialized training for Webelos leaders in outdoor skills and program.
