Monthly Branch Meetings are on the Fourth Thursday of the month.
EXCEPT August 2010 which has had to be moved to the THIRD THURSDAY same time and place | Monthly Meetings
We are a branch of The University of the Third Age, which is a self-help group for people no longer in full time employment - no age limits!
The U3A is not about study and qualifications: it's about members improving the quality of their lives by getting together to share interests and join in activities.
Although we were only formed in March 2007 we now have a membership in excess of 200.
Our members have already organised for themselves the following groups:
Astronomy, Archaeology, Birdwatching, Book Club, Computing, Cycling, Gardening, Geology, Lunch Club, Music Appreciation, Rambling, Science/Technology, Photography, Meditation, Travel, Theatre Visits and many others.
New ideas from our membership are always welcome.
NOTE: Our venue is the Jersey Farm Hotel
Meetings assemble from 10.00, for a prompt start at 10.30.
Guests are welcome to attend one of our meetings as a ‘taster’ before deciding whether to join. An admission fee, currently £1, covers the costs of room hire, refreshments at an extra cost. Annual U3A membership is £11per person, or £7.50 for members of another U3A branch.
