I believe that all students can learn. They may not learn the explicit lessons we teach but they always get the implicit lessons.

I believe that my calling is to help faculty see ways to reach the students in new and innovative ways which match their personal teaching style: sometimes it's technology, sometimes a nonjudgmental set of eyes to assist with reflection, sometime it's a hug and understanding.

Teach where the learner is -- not where we believe he should be. Place the focus on the human needs and individuality. This will lead to learning which is valuable and applicable to the needs of that human.

Sometimes teaching is letting the learner fail, despite the heartbreak.
