Alternative Access

This information relates to students who will use another way to control a computer or other device, because of their disability. Alternative ways to operate a computer or AAC device, there are several options in each of the following categories:
  • Alternative mice (joy stick, roller ball, etc)
  • Head movements: head mouse, eye gaze
  • Switches (one or more + an interface)

  Oak Park School District 97 uses Macintosh computers in classrooms. Most of these directions and ideas apply to the Macintosh computer, OSX.
