On this page you'll find sites that let you highlight text on other websites.
This is especially useful if you want your students to focus on a specific part of a web page and don't fancy giving them convoluted instructions on how to find the paragraph(s) that you want them to read.
As both of the sites listed below essentially does the same thing it's just a matter of personal taste as to which one you'd like to use:
- The Awesome Hilighter - In my opinion this is the easiest of the sites on offer and thus it's my favourite.
It works straight from the browser without the need to install any add-ons and thus can be used on 'locked down' machines with a plain web browser.
The site also offers a bookmarklet and Firefox extension for "on the go" highlighting.
- Wizlite - This operates in almost exactly the same way as Awesome Highlighter - except with this one you must install a Firefox extension or bookmarklet for it to work, hence why I prefer Awesome Highlighter as it works straight from the browser with no add ons.
