Free Apps- Adobe PDF Reader - Lets you annotate PDF's on your ipad.
- Conceptboard - A free online collaborative whiteboard site that works on both computers and iPads.
- Google Docs - Google Docs lets you create and edit word processed documents and spreadsheets easily.
- Diigo - Access all of your online research that you've saved to your Diigo account.
- Dropbox - This allows users to access their dropbox files on their iPad. Images from the iPad can also be uploaded to the dropbox. Any PDF’s in the dropbox can also be copied to the iPad for later viewing via the free iBooks app.
- Educreations - Create and share great video lessons with your iPad or browser.
- Evernote - This allows users to make various types of notes which can then be syned to any other machine running Evernote. This is very useful for online research and for making memos during meetings - more so that the default note application that is provided with the iPad.
- Kahn Academy - This provides over 3,000 free educational videos, exercises, and lectures covering a raft of different topics.
- Remember The Milk - This free app allows you to create & manage tasks using Remember The Milk (you can also use the main RTM website on your iPad too if you like).
- ScreenChomp - Free app that lets you make a screencast on your ipad.
- Skitch - Mark up photos, screenshots, maps, and webpages then share them with anyone you like.
- PaperDesk LT - A great app that lets users make drawn, typed or voice notes and then send these to to others via email.
- PCalc Lite - A scientific calculator for the ipad.
- Pocket MV - Allows you to login to Second Life and communicate with others who are online.
- Skype - This would allow tutors to provide online support to students via voice or text chat.
- Slide Shark - This lets you upload powerpoints to the Slide Shark website and then acces them online via the free Slideshark App, preserving all of your original fonts, animations and transitions.
- Team Viewer - This is a great app that lets you control a computer from your ipad.
- Twitter - Access multiple Twitter accounts from your ipad.
- Wikipanion - Puts Wikipedia at your fingertips.
- Photoshop Express - A free version of the worlds most famous image editor.
