Based on agreement during the May 2009 workshop, we are pursuing two paths for documentation of our discussions: 1) A somewhat "static" workshop report - edited by participants for completeness and accuracy, and 2) A dynamic strategic planning document that will be open to ongoing editing and adaptation Details on these distinctions, along with instructions for the editing process, are provided below: The workshop report: We posted an edited draft report of the Strategic Planning Session for participant review and comment. The document was open for editing for two weeks, until Tuesday, June 9th. The final version is attached at the bottom of this page and is also located online here via Google Docs. The strategic planning document and ongoing dialogue: In addition to the workshop report, for those interested in further developing the strategic thinking and plans that emerged from the workshop, Jordan Henk and colleagues at the Redlands Institute have developed a new Google Site for a living, organic version of the strategic plan. On this site, you can request editing capability directly and just add your own comments and attachments to the document and to the site as a whole. We are hoping that people will contribute to help create a full Google Site with references to other documents and resources. We will also be looking for volunteer moderators for the site who would be willing to help incorporate edits from others.
Major Initiatives Matrix: Attached to this page is a shorter summary of all recommendations identified during the workshop. It is also located online here via Google Docs. We compiled this matrix here at the US Institute, and in discussions with the workshop Steering Committee, to begin to identify and plan priority actions. We encourage comment and reaction to this list, and encourage all participants to determine their own sense of priority and potential contribution.
