TEC Election Nominations

posted ‎‎Jan 18, 2009 2:12 PM‎‎ by Sandra E Marxen   [ updated ‎‎Jan 18, 2009 2:48 PM‎‎ ]

Wondering about that countdown gadget on the left?  I'm the former editor of TEC News, the official newsletter of The Elongated Collectors.  The club holds elections to its governing board in odd numbered years and the deadline for nominations is March 31.

Those eligible to run for president include: Aprille Curtis, Tristan Davis, Ray Dillard, Bob Fritsch, Jim Kilcoyne, Burton Levy, Willie Massey, Brad Ream, Rocky Rockholt, Angelo Rosato, Russ Sears, Tyler Tyson, Adele Vogel, Norm Vogel, Larry White, Jack Wilcox and Nancy WootenI've taken the liberty of nominating each of them so none can say he/she didn't run because he/she wasn't asked.  If you're an active TEC member, I urge you to look over the list and contact any of the folks you know who you think would make good candidates.  Let them know you support them!

And if you're an active TEC member, don't forget there are six other elected positions to fill: vice president, secretary, treasurer, and three governors.  You can run for any of those, no prior board time is required.  Don't everyone run for governor, though!  There's a myth out there that governor is the best "entry level" position and so it attracts more first time candidates.  The other positions have more specific duties, but they're just as open to you as a governor slot is!

Thank you, Santa!

I'm only just getting around to unpacking my bags from the holidays.  It appears Santa is a baseball fan and came to Ohio by way of Michigan -- stocking included Comerica Park (home of the Detroit Tigers), Cabela's in Dundee, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, and Jacob's Field (home of the Cleveland Indians).

Berlin, Brandenburg Gate

John C rocks!  Proved himself to be the very best kind of non-collector friend when he took time during his trip to Berlin to press 2 cent Euro coins for me at the Brandenburg Gate.  Better yet, they haven't been reported to PennyCollector!  Look for a report there soon....
