When, like Liver, you get tired of looking around this site, here are some others that relate to elongated coins. If a link is bad or you want your site added or deleted, please
The Elongated Collectors (TEC) TEC is the club for anyone interested in ECs. The website includes membership application forms, names of officers, bylaws, some EC history, links to some members and their websites, and TEC related ECs are offered for sale.
Elongated Coin Discussion Group This Yahoo Group is a moderated forum for anyone interested in ECs. It was founded in 1997 now has over 600 members. Topics include location reports, offers to trade or sell ECs, machines, and supplies, and answers to questions of all kinds.
Penny Atlas (no longer online) David & Cheryl Sarkozi created the Penny Atlas to aid in the hunt for more ECs. It was the first I knew of that included a searchable database of locations of more or less current machines and descriptions of their dies within the United States and many foreign countries as well. One of the best features of the website was that you could post your latest find (or disappointment) immediately to the database.
Penny Collector This website is hugely popular and offers a little of everything. The company manufactures and places machines and dies as well as sells them outright. It also sells some ECs directly and some t-shirts and penny collector books (which you really shouldn't use to actually store ECs in because they contain PVCs, chemicals that will corrode your ECs). The website includes very smart looking location lists, a trading tool, subscriptions to its periodic emails, and answers to FAQs.
Disneyland ECs Created by Bob and Stasi Hoff, well-known Disney EC collectors and stalwart members of TEC and the discussion group, this website features "what’s new" reports, and very fine locations lists and EC desctiptions for Disneyland, Disneyland Resort, Downtown Disney, Disney's California Adventure, and Tokyo Disneyland.
The Squished Penny Museum Christine and Pete created this website -- a counterpart of their EC museum. Popular demand overwhelmed them (the museum was in their home and attracted A LOT of visitors). They closed the museum in 2007, but you can still visit their archived website, which is still worth a look even if it's no longer being updated.
The Elongated Coin Collector TEC member Stuart Liss created this website which features exceptionally good location lists and descriptions of ECs from Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Universal Studios Hollywod, and Universal Sudios Florida. It also offers EC supplies, lists of collectors and their interests, as well as lists and images of rare (pre-1970) ECs.
1933 Chicago World’s Fair Mike Penick provides detailed descriptions and images of many of the ECs from 1933 Chicago World’s Fair -- a great example of a specialty collection and reminder of the history of the hobby.
Penny Machines Penny Machines is connected with Penny Collector. It manufactures and places machines and dies, but does not sell them outright yet. The website includes the locations of some of their machines.
disneyisland Although not as extensive as Stuart's or Bob and Stasi's website, David Tomita's website features locations and images of his Disneyland EC collection.
Elongated Coin World Egon Pavlis went all out to create a CD-ROM with location guides and descriptions and images of something like 5,700 ECs. Unfortunately, I don't think the site has been updated in at least a few years.
Kenny Cottrell's Walt Disney World Guide was on AOL, but it looks like AOL shut down the service.
Peregrine John's Disneyland and Legoland Guide
Smash a Penny (no longer available) Geocaching (taking down the exact latitude and longitude of a machine) may seem an extreme way to put together a location list, but Marky and Joani's site made it look like fun. The website featured GPS cache logs, images, and stories.
Smashed Pennies: America’s Best Souvenir David's site features locations from which he's collected ECs and a scrapbook with photos and stories and letters about his adventures.
AAA Historical Americana, World Exonumia, Elongated Coins This website offers vintage ECs for sale.
ANA Dealer Specialties Listing, Elongated Coins ANA is the American Numismatic Association (the club for everything money related). This site used to list a few elongated coin dealers who also happen to be ANA members. But it comes up with an error now.
Copper Memories Copper Memories is based in Virginia and is one of the many companies that manufactures and places machines and dies in the locations we hope to find them. They offer some of their coins for sale on the site.
Dixboro General Store The Dixboro General Store features its machine on their website and is willing to sell you an EC from it.
Eurolink Design Corporation Eurolink is another company that manufactures and places machines and dies in various locations. It's probably fair to say it's the giant of ECs machines and dies -- for example, almost all of the machine on Disney properties are Eurolink machines. They're typically electric machines and the dies are usually marked with an "e" at one end. They don't sell ECs directly from their site, but they do now include links to some of the many locations of their machines.
Eurolink GB was hosted by AOL, but it looks like AOL shut the service down. This Great Britain company manufactured and placed machines and dies. However, the happy difference between them and their US counterpart was that they offered their ECs for sale directly to those of us who can't travel to their machines. If you know where their site is now, please let me know.
Holden Mfg, Inc Another company that manufactures and places machines and dies. I'm not sure I've ever run across one of their machines, or how I'd identify it if I did. The site comes up with an error these days. If you know what happened to it, please let me know.
Jim Kilcoyne Jim is well-known throughout TEC and the discussion group for the ECs he designs and sells. One of my very first ECs, from the Kadiz, Kentucky Ham Festival, came from Jim. He also designs and rolls custom ECs, e.g., for your wedding, child's birth announcements, etc.
Luck E Penny Willy Massey's history/commentary, links, images; used to design and sell, but that’s been suspended.
Paradise Engraving The site comes up with an error now. Jim Dundon and Paradise Engraving are responsible for the "JD" and "PE" engraver's initials that you find on many of your ECs. He offered machines for sale and made custom dies.
Penny Design Gallery Lurene Haines features her die designs.
Penny Machines Penny Machines was connected with Penny Collector. It manufactures and places machines and dies, but does not sell them outright yet. The website includes the locations of some of their machines.
Rare Coins and Numismatic Collectibles Features older ECs for sale.
The Copper Man Harvey Bach offers custom dies and sells some coins and collector books.
The Penny Press Machine Company Rocky Rockholt, White Bear Lake, MN, leases and sells machines and custom dies.
The Penny Smasher Also Rocky Rockholt, offers ECs for sale, including several large sets (dinosaurs, zodiac, U.S. presidents) and some nice vintage designs.
Vendor’s Alliance, Inc. I believe these are the "DimeNMine" people. They manufacture and sell machines and dies, including double sided dies.
Verde Canyon Railroad Gift Shop This is a nice little gift shop that used to sell ECs from its machine. The page comes up with an error now.

My Penny Roller Cat Yronwode's image and description of a vintage penny rolling machine with original dies for elongates from Golden Gate Bridge, Oakland-San Francisco Bay Bridge and Golden Gate International Exposition.
Social Circles Includes images of two Roy Roger ECs.
The Elongated Internet Created by Anne Kee, most of the links are outdated; however, a bit of the reading room material is still good.
Monnaie De Paris Paris had no EC machines at all when I was there, not even one! Instead they had machines that took your coins and dispensed souvenir coins that weren't elongated, but at least they were pressed metal with designs of the attraction. I got several of these coins all over France at churches, castles, museums and the like.
The Tower Mint UK London does a better job than Paris at providing EC machines, but many EC worthy locations are missed. Again, I bought souvenir coins where I could not get ECs. I picked them up in gift shops at Canterbury Cathedral, St. Paul's, the Tower of London, and the like.
