Team Tammy, October 22, 2011, was a day of hope, as we honored lives lost, celebrated survivors, promoted cancer research and helped bring cancer care to those who so desperately needed it. Net proceeds from the T
eam Tammy event will benefit local cancer patients.
Team Tammy was originally organized by a group of eighth grade girls  at Gillespie Middle School to help a local family coping with breast cancer. They helped  raise awareness about the disease and  particularly the need for self-examination to promote early detection. Team Tammy has now branched out to help other people cope with other types of cancer.
