Inertia Racing
Inertia Racing is a mountain bike racing team based in Greenville, South Carolina. We recognize there are many sponsored teams in the upstate almost all of these teams are “road racing based” teams. Our team concentrates on the sport of Mountain Bike Racing and we feel we can bring our sponsors exposure to the Mountain Biking community. This presents a unique opportunity for your organization to attract potential clients.
Who are we?
Inertia Racing is a 6 member team founded in 2003 by Mark Henninger and Danny Shew. The team started out with a few adventure races, but has explored many different avenues since then. Through the past 6 years, the members of the team have participated in road racing, time trials, off-road multi-sport events (duathlons and triathlons), cyclocross, and touring events (such as the Assault on Mount Mitchell). It didn’t take us very long to realize that the sport that we all love the most is mountain bike racing.
The team now concentrates on Mountain Bike Cross-Country racing and Endurance (6-24 hour) events throughout the Southeast US in Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina. What does the team have to offer to a prospective sponsor?
Without fail, we present a positive image of ourselves, our team, and our sponsors. In addition to racing in a variety of locations throughout the region, we spend a lot of time on the road and trails during training. Team members train an average of 10 hours per week on the local roads and trails of the Upstate while wearing your logo on our team uniform. That’s an average of 50 person hours per week of sponsor advertisement on our jersey’s and word of mouth. Many of the rides are part of larger local group rides such as the Caesars Head Challenge, or SORBA Tuesday night group Rides at Paris Mountain. We feel that this additional exposure would present a great benefit to our sponsors.
Here is a short list of some of the events that are in our current racing plan for the 2011 season. Many athletes from the Greenville, SC area are participants. · Upstate Winter Bike League (Greenville, SC area: 9 total events) · 12 Hours of Santos (Ocala, FL) · Nothing but Noodles Winter Short Track series (5 race series in Charlotte, NC 5 total events) · 6 Hours of Warrior Creek (N. Wilkesboro, NC) · Stump Jump (Spartanburg, SC) · Southern Classic Race (Columbia, SC) · Burn 24 Hours (N. Wilkesboro, NC) · 12 Hours of Dauset (Jackson, GA) · Caesars Head Challenge (Greenville, SC) · Tree Shaker (Rock Hill, SC) · 12 Hours of Tsali (Bryson, NC)
With your sponsorship dollars, we will purchase team uniforms or “kits”. These kits would consist of custom jerseys and shorts that would allow us to prominently display the logo of our title sponsor, and any partner, associate, or support sponsors that contribute to the team. Each team member would receive 2 or 3 team kits so that we could promote our sponsor as frequently as possible. Once team kits are purchased, the next expense will go toward race entry fees. We fully expect that with the number of events that we anticipate racing, this would consume the remainder of the funds available. If there were any left-over funds, they would be put toward bike maintenance and parts replacement.
We appreciate your attention, and each of us would like to personally thank you for considering team Inertia as a sponsorship opportunity.
