2011CUSTTA

2011 CUSTTA Open Table Tennis Championships was held on Septemer 10th/11th, 2011 at the SAIT Polytehnic gymnasium.  The president of CUSTTA, Mr. Kim Law, on behalf of CUSTTA board, thanked all the participants for supporting the tournament.  He also thanked the tireless efforts of all volunteers and the organizing committee, making the tournament as successful as it was.  He was also indebted to all the sponsors that supplied the cash prizes for all the winners in all events, the lucky draw prizes for participants and spectators as well, and the free magazines and newspaper from SingTao Daily Newspaper.

Special thanks go to the Edmonton Table Tennis Club, who supported her members to participate in this tournament.  They also got their share of the lucky draw prizes.

Especially, he'd like to thank MLA Teresa Woo-Paw to be able to take time out of her busy schedule to watch the tournament and handed out a number of lucky draw prizes.

After intense competition in 20 events over 2 days, the results are now verified.

 How to read the scores for the 2-player team events:

2-player team event plays in the following format: H vs H, L vs L, HL vs HL (if necessary), that is, best of 3 matches.  H denotes higher ranked player of the team, while L denotes lower ranked player of the team.  The third match, which is a doubles match, is played if the score is tied 1:1 after the singles matches.

Thus, the results should be either 2:0 or 2:1.  However, the system requires minimum best of five scores.  Therefore, an "extra game score" is entered to extend the results to 3:0 or 3:1 respectively.

Until the system is enhanced, this is how the 2-P team event scores are to be presented.
