TRI-COUNTY SWIM MEETS

C*H*A*M*P*S  ~  2011

League Championships (2010) will be held on:

Thursday, July 21nd @ Canal Winchester

Join this year as we swim against the 11 other teams in the Tri-County League! Come swim against the Marlins, Gators, Porpoises and other magnificent sea creatures who challenge the Stingrays to "rule the pool"!

THE CHAMPS COURSE: Swimmers may swim 2 individual events and 2 relays.  Warm-ups will start at 7:00AM with a meet start of 8:00AM.  Each meet will run approximately 5 hours.  10 and unders will swim in the morning session, 11 and ups in the afternoon.

Stingrays bring "Buddy Buckets" to Champs for their RayBuddies!

BUDDY BUCKETS: Each 'Ray will be assigned a secret RayBuddy for the meet and should bring a Buddy Bucket to share with their cheering friend. Buddy buckets should be plastic buckets filled with snacks, toys, and a cheer card wishing their buddy luck in all their races!

ELIGIBILITY: Swimmers must have participated in THREE league meets in order to qualify for CHAMPS (invitationals count toward the three).   They must also have a recorded time from a league meet in each event they are seeded to swim at CHAMPS.

* Please note that there is a $5 league fee per swimmer.

Dual Meets
The Stingrays swim in SIX dual meets, three away and three at home at the Heath Pool.  Dual meets are held between two registered league teams and are made up of 77 events.   Swimmers usually swim three individual races and two relays (when possible).   Swimmers are allowed to swim UP into older age categories (but not down).   Swimmers cannot swim the SAME event in two different age categories.

Invitationals
Invitationals are meets between four or more league teams hosted at one of the TCAL pools.   Information will be given out for all invitationals as soon as we receive it from the host team.   Invitationals usually last between 5-6 hours.   Swimmers often swim only against swimmers in their own age group.   There is a fee PER EVENT for invitationals due prior to the day of the event.    Most swimmers choose 4 or 5 events to swim.  It is the responsibility of the swimmer to sign up with the coaches and pay fees by the date due to the team treasurer if the swimmer wishes to participate.   Rosters are due to host teams electronically well before these meets, so early identification of interested swimmers is essential.
